In the next 10 years, we expect massive shifts in talent work related to exacerbated staffing shortages, declining student enrollment, fiscal funding cliffs, decreased perceptions of education and the teaching profession, alternative schooling options, and new Artificial Intelligence-enabled ways of teaching and working, to name a few. These shifts, if not addressed intentionally, may widen already stubborn gaps in our highest needs students' access to effective teaching and leadership.
The Academy is a two (2) day in-person, facilitated, team-based experience designed to network and support HR/Talent leaders in driving positive and proactive change in their school systems.
The Academy helps you and your teams do your jobs better by:
- Providing you with relevant content and tools to improve your talent strategy and quality of your workforce
- Building a powerful network of K-12 HR & Talent professionals with whom to problem solve
- Giving your team dedicated time and support away to identify key opportunities to pursue
- Learning from experts and innovators in the sector on approaches to bring back to your system

At this Academy, we will focus on HR’s critical role in Supporting Principals and Schools in an Evolving Talent Landscape. Key questions include:
- How can HR deliver great service to all Principals, especially in a time of diminishing resources?
- In what ways can HR differentiate talent supports to High Needs School Principals so they can ensure their students have at least equal access to effective staff?
- What do the current and future challenges require of our leadership in HR?
The USHCA Academies and coaching were two of the most informative professional development experiences of my work while in the Boston Public Schools. The Academy's structure helped me set goals to transform a traditional HR office to a strategic HC office to ensure that every classroom had an effective teacher while we worked to increase workforce diversity.
